Books, Websites, Pages, etc.
Total health is a relentless
pursuit. Health is so much more than the absence of symptoms. Total
Health is asymptotic; that is, a goal that no matter how infinitely close you
approach it, there is still room to improve. Everyone, no matter how healthy,
can get even better. Isn't that cool? This page is dedicated to your web search for
health conscious related items. Good web links arrive then disappear, so
sometimes this page gets full, and sometimes it is sparse. But come back often, and I'll continue
to add information.
Go to The
Sivananda Yoga
Vedanta Center Website. This site will tell you whether there
is a Sivananda Yoga Center in your city. If there is, go there and take a
class in Yoga or Meditation. They also have a book store where you can buy
books by Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnu-Devananda, as well as other good books
and merchandise.
Who are these Swami guys? It's not important to go into that
here. I've got a reading list below. Don't get caught up in the
"weird religion" thing. They don't want to convert you.
Jesus doesn't mind. Trust me.
Also see
The
Divine Life Society Homepage. They offer free books by Swami
Sivananda for download, as well as other useful information. Downloaded
books are hard to read though, so it's worth it to pay a few bucks and buy the
real deal (at Sivananda Yoga Center, above). Don't be put off by the
pictures of the swamis.
To determine your Ayurvedic Prakriti
(What the heck is that?!?!?, you ask. It's your body type.) there used to
be online tests. I used to have a few links here, but they have
expired, and I am having trouble finding new ones. This probably has
something to do with lawyers. I'll keep looking - check back.

This site is about what's in the meat that you eat. (Notice I said "you" -
I don't put that crap in my body.)
Enter the Meatrix.

This is a sweet little video about hugs, but it's about more than that.
There will always be someone who wants to put out your fire. Send them love,
but keep burning. (Note: There's a little
button in the lower corner of the small video window that will give you a
full-screen view)

This is a silly cartoon about the too-many-pills you

Do
you have a good video? Let me know, and if it's on topic and cool enough
to pass the stringent Peaceandloveland standards, I'll add a link.
Colleagues, cool people, links that aren't links
I am blessed! I have great friends - healthy relationships with healthy
available people. Every now ant then people ask me if I "do" things like
astrology, hand reading, past life regression, reiki, ayurveda, homeopathy,
naturopathy, crystal therapy . . . and so on. Well I don't, but I have
friends who do.
Most of these friends don't have web sites, but if you
contact me, I can get you to
them.
Have you read the book,
Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield?
It's a nice little parable about a fellow who goes on an adventure - and
everything he needs comes to him in time - usually not a second too early, but
never a second too late. One of the morals of the story is that there is
really no such thing as coincidence. Where you are right now is no
coincidence - there is a message for you in this moment, if you have the
awareness to receive it.

Some people think that Dr. Chopra has gotten too
commercial and annoying. Well, he IS commercial, and that is
annoying, but these books were written before he got sanitized for
your protection. Besides,
even now, if you can suffer through it, you'll see that he's
on track about many things. Can't
blame a guy for making a buck.

credible, I will gladly recommend more. |
